Moooving back.

If you love me at all ... please follow me back to WordPress. Pages have been updated (including the About Me, even if you saw it Monday - it's new) and my blog roll has been overhauled as well.

Importing my posts was a breeze!

I started at WordPress in September 2006 and I should have just stayed with it.

Thank you friends!

Cramming it in to one day's time.

I did it again ... I bought another book. Do you realize that I am quite possibly, the slowest reader known to man? Maybe I could write a blog about that. I have this habit of buying books and never getting around to reading them. I'm determined to finish The History of Love before Saturday. I do enjoy reading on planes and I want to have a fresh book when I leave.

This afternoon, I called my mom at 3:35 as I was walking into Target and said "meet me at the theater at 4 and we'll go see Julie and Julia." Miraculously she agreed. She's one of the least spontaneous people I know, so this was no small feat. So at 3:50ish I met her at the theater. The movie is quite possibly one of the cutest things I've seen in a while. So fun and funny and just ... adorable.

The majority of the audience was over the age of 60, which made it even funnier. There was a woman directly across the aisle from me who laughed the entire time. You could tell she really enjoyed the movie. I laughed when she laughed just cause it was so much fun.

So of course, after a friend left a comment about whether or not I had read the book yet, I had to go out and buy it.

Julia Child's husband was a saint. Pure saint.

I'm off to do pilates, drink hot tea and take a bubble bath. Cleaning my room and putting away my new stuff is also on the agenda. Ahhh ...

I'm horrible at writing titles

I'm watching Into the Wild for the first time since it first came out. Funny thing is though, that I thought it came out Spring 2008, but according to IMDB, it came out September 2007. I'm confused.

Maybe it's the HD or the 35-inch (give or take) TV I'm watching it on, but I do not remember the colors being so brilliant the first time I saw it. In a movie like this though, the color adds to the film so much because of the subject manner.

I love the story of Into the Wild so much. I remember hearing about the book on the way to San Francisco and I'm pretty sure it's one of the books I bought at City Lights Books.

I got off work late. My parents miss me a lot. I miss them too, but I guess I'm not admitting it. It's been too busy to think about it too much.

Tomorrow is my last full day off I have before I go to Portland. Eeks! Lots of miscellaneous things to do. (And I may even squeeze a movie in if I can.)

This evening I covered a concert in the park at Berkeley Springs State Park. I had no idea how much fun it would be or how many people I would run into. Including the superintendent of Morgan County Schools and a former Journal photographer I never met before.

(There are 30 pictures in that album .... I just posted it for the sake of the most current photos.)

I am not a runner ...

I'm stuck on the loveseat tonight. Ankle up, with ice and a blanket.

I got the bright idea to go for a run after work and my ankle gave out on me. This happens from time to time, but this time, it caught me off guard. I think I did more damage when I got home and tried to take the other shoe off.

Anyway. I've got it up and hopefully, tomorrow it will be ok. I've got an active shooter exercise and the celebrity milking contest at the fair to cover.

This weekend I should be heading to the Press Association banquet to receive my award, but that was nipped. I'm looking forward to seeing it on Monday morning though.

A week and a day until Portland. Crazy.

I'm going to try to call it an early night even though by nature I'm a night owl. I woke up at 6:45 a.m. to cover a grand re-opening at a store in Martinsburg. Lucky for me, I was able to leave super early. The next couple days I'll be covering events at the fair.

I've been doing some pondering again and something I read yesterday makes me think ... I don't want to get hurt again.

There are some good things on the horizon and I'm just waiting till the right opportunity presents itself. As I've been saying for a while now ... time will tell.

I finally submitted my application to get my Passport today.

And I went to the eye doctor and he was just as confused as me why I went through three lenses last week. He prescribed a new lens and said that the added cost would be worth it. We'll see. I really, really love my eye doctor. I've been going to the same one at the recommendation of good ole Jeff. That's probably been about .... 4 years I think? We talked about work and the West Coast.

In other reports ... my tomatoes are finally turning red. I planted them in May and there are 11 tomatoes on the two plants. I water them religiously every day - unless I'm home in Romney and then I miss a day. They're beautiful. I can't wait to start enjoying them.

Today has wiped me out for some reason. Lot's of driving. After a call to American Airlines went sour and I was trying to decide whether or not to to go Seattle in a couple weeks (read: cram it into a short four day visit), I got stressed out. All the way to Winchester, I listened to fast music to car-dance to in order to vent frustrations. It worked, but now I'm tired.

Tomorrow it's back to the grind. Farewell three day weekend.
